Spacecraft lands on comet

I am sure you have read, heard or somehow were hit by the news of Rosetta and Philae in the last week. No, this is not a science fiction movie.. we are doing it.. finally we are getting closer to be able to go far beyond the limits of planet and touch other worlds! Wait.. maybe I am too excited... For the first time humanity is not only getting closer to a comet but landing on it with the same mission. Some time ago (around 4.5 billions year ago approximately) our solar system was formed, and since comets have been in an environment of about 50 K (pretty cold, right?) the molecular composition has remained almost unalterable over time. In a mixture of rock, dust and frozen gases we hope we can find answers to understand where we come from, and maybe, where we are heading.
10 years was the time to reach the comet, a feat of science once more. With patience and willingness anything is possible!
If you would like to understand better how the trip was during these 10 years, I invite you to have a look to this link.
